About me

Robert

My name is Robert Marvin Gislason and I am a software engineer or in other words computer geek.
I first got interested in photography in the beginning of 2005. My first digital camera was a Sony PS50 which I was very content with until I got the "photographic bacteria". I upgraded my camera to Canon 350D and I am still using it with only the kit lens, 50mm lens and newly added 300mm zoom lens.
Sure I would like something more fancy but I believe that it is not the camera that takes the picture. It is only an instrument for the photographer that takes or creates the picture.

I have taken thousands of pictures, many of my family but also many of the surrounding landscapes on my trips around Iceland and emotive that I have stumbled upon or created and set up myself. Many of my pictures are just average pictures and some can even be categorized as snapshots but among those thousands there are always some hidden gem and that is what I like to show you here. Collection of my best shots over the years.

Though I am just a self-educated amateur photographer, I believe that I have learned a lot over the years and hope to learn more in the future.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and if you would like a copy or a print feel free to contact me through the below email.

Thank you for visiting my website.

Robert.
